Rubber Labels – FAQ

Rubber Labels – FAQ

This is the FAQ section for rubber patches and labels for clothing, footwear, apparel, bags, computers, and other products.

What is your minimum?

Our minimum is 500 pcs for rubber labels. Please note that as quantity increases, the lower is the per-label price. Lower quantities can be a lot more expensive. Please contact our sales rep for more information about rubber labels such as PVC labels, silicone labels, and TPU labels.

How much do rubber labels cost?

This all depends on the size and thickness of your label. Mold fees are more expensive if your design is large and has many intricate details and colors.

Please note that labels made out of PVC, rubber, silicone, metal, and heavy stock paper are typically heavier than other products, so shipping fees may be higher due to the weight.

Can you make both soft and hard rubber labels?

Yes, the hardness can be adjusted. Silicone labels tend to be softer and more flexible than PVC labels.

Do you offer PVC-Free Labels?

Yes. Silicone and TPU Labels are excellent alternatives to PVC labels. Silicone labels are more environmentally friendly than PVC labels because it’s non-toxic. Silicone labels can also capture small details of your artwork and can be welded on felt backings.

How are Rubber Labels made?

A mold is created for each design and PVC or Silicone is injected into each custom mold. Mold fees are added to each price.

Mold fee prices range depending on artwork and material. The molds are big and bulky, so after 6 months, the factory will melt them down to re-use. If you re-order within 6 months, you will not have the pay the mold fee again.

What is your turnaround time?

Approximately 10 business days for sampling and 12 to 15 business days for full production of labels under 5,000 pcs.

Is there a set-up cost?

There is only a mold fee that starts at $150 and goes up depending on the size of your design. Molds are held for 6 months for PVC labels, Rubber labels and Silicone labels.

Do you match colors?

We don’t guarantee 100% match due to the differences in materials, but we come very very close. The best way is to provide us with PantoneTM color codes to be matched to your design.

Can you put a special backing on the rubber patches?

Yes. We can manufacture with a stick adhesive film or a velcro backing at an extra fee. This type of application might not be feasible for all products, so please ask a sales rep for assistance.

How do I apply PVC, Rubber, TPUS, or Silicone Labels?

The easiest way to apply rubber label is to sew them on. Most seamstresses and manufacturers will have needles that can easily sew PVC labels or Silicone labels on. In your design, please make a sewing channel called a “stitch ditch”” that runs around the perimeter of the label to make for easy sewing.

You can also apply rubber labels by heat adhesive or sticker adhesive. Heat adhesive might not be available for all applications, so ask a sales rep for more information about PVC labels or rubber labels.

Another option is to use a heat welding machine.  A thermo compression binds the silicone label with your garment, so there is no sewing or adhesive involved. We can also heat weld the silicone on a piece of fabric for you as well.
